Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Another day another buck, altho th days seem to b rolling into a single long endless stream going by, to a point where th days lose their meaning. And im beginning to just enjoy sitting down to watch th world go by.

Wats more, Valentines day is coming agn. Question: What is it to love someone? To give yourself wholeheartedly to someone despite his or her flaws? Is it physical attraction? (dont give me any of tt i love u becos of ur brain crap!) How he or she behaves? How she looks?

You give ur heart and soul to th other person, and expect th exact same feelings to be reciprocated to you, but does tt always happen? Love is a strange phenomenon...try to catch it, and u seldom do. But leave it alone, and it will come in time.

I guess u must be having the Valentine's blues..well take this from a guy who's never had a girlfriend in the past 24 years: Maybe true happiness lies in being content, whether u are in love, or out of love or searching for love. Lol, I guess love is to benefit another person at the expense of oneself without expecting anything in return. (It can't have any strings attached right?)

Gift-wise.....I think nothing beats a good, old-fashion bouquet of flowers.
